Annie and Sarah got in last night!!!
So far today, we've taken a nature walk, climbed the treehouse, and played football with daddy outside. Oh, and also put up salt licks for the deer outside our back fence. That should make the dog happy.
The kids and Glynn were so cute on their nature walk. Cue Crocodile Hunter Glynn Spencer narrating as we walked.
Glynn: "Kids, do you see that tree? What do you think happened to it?"
Annie: "It fell down."
Glynn: "No, do you see the scratches on it?"
Annie: "Oh yeah! It's from the tusks!" (She's not much for outdoorsy-type activities).
Walking along a little further, Glynn the animal tracker points out yet another clue.
"Kids, look at that!"
Sarah: "Um, it's poop."
"Yeah, but what KIND of poop?"
Both girls: "Deer?" (It was the size of jelly beans, by the way)
Glynn: "Now do you think a deer makes a poop that small?"
And so continued the girls' animal tracking education. They had a lot of fun, and so did the little ones. Maddie kept asking where the deer food was and Brady was just trying to stay upright.
It's naptime now, so I'm trying to talk B-boy into settling down while I attempt Uncle Ken's famous homemade rolls. The dough is rising as I type, let's hope it turns out. I've never done this before but I thought it sounded good with the beef stew I'm making for dinner.
I know, I'm June freakin' Cleaver, right?
